Introduction to Speak

As you read, think about the narrator's attitude...How does she feel about school, her peers, her parents, last summer?

  1. Melinda hates school and dislikes her peers. She doesn't really talk to her parents but she seems to get along with her mom. Melinda wishes people would know the real story that happened last summer.

  3. I think Melinda feels upset with the fact nobody will talk to her because of what happened last summer.Melinda likes to remain quiet because that is who she is . Melinda likes to talk in her head but not physically talking . I think when she got on the bus the first day and she was getting bombarded with things it made her feel like she was nothing that really put a attitude on who she is a person .

  5. The narrator's attitude is quite she hasn't talked to anyone at all so far. The way she feels about her school is it's not clean, and she hates it. She doesn't like her peers only Heather but not really her as well. Her parents don't talk to her and she doesn't talk to them. She leaves notes on the counter or buts the radio on full volume. She doesn't like last summer she did something and she lost all of her friends.
