I feel the relation between the mom and dad is only because of the kids they have together. i think the mom feels like the dad is crazy and she needs to be there for the kids. I feel the dad feels like he needs to mom because he wouldn't be able to do it without her. Otherwise I think they were in love at one point but i think it died down.
the mother and father relationship isn't love or hate.They don't even communicate like a husband and mother should number one the father is half of the time unacquainted.
I would describe it as when the father saw the mother he didn't really give her a chance to marry because he was so certain . I would characterize this as unsure love because the wife just goes along with whatever the father is doing. I really dont think there is much love going between both of them.If there was a good relationship the mother would have some say in what is going on .
There relationship is loving and chaotic because in the text it says that the dad loves Jeanette mom to death because when he first met her because he said im going to marry her.
